Overview
No matter how bad, things can always get worse.
You find yourself fascinated by how Mrs. L behaved once her brooch was on her and are tempted to try putting it on her again, but you decide to fully test the brooch's abilities on other people around school. You decide your first target should be the queen (or former queen).
Kate
After tricking Kate into stealing the brooch from you after you "accidentally" trip and drop it, she clips it into her hair and leaves. You search the Cafeteria and Gym for her, but no luck. You'll search other areas in the school, namely the Computer Classroom, Science Classroom, Homeroom, and Clubroom, running into and talking to their respective inhabitants along the way. You eventually search outside, and after ending up in the Park, you find Kate completely naked and staring peacefully at her reflection in the pond, admiring her beauty and insisting that she's in love for the first time. With her conceit at an all time high, you convince her to try kissing herself before you snatch the brooch back from her and move onto the next subject: either Jacklyn or Maya.
Jacklyn
You approach Jacklyn and ask her to wear the brooch so you can paint her in it. She agrees, and upon putting it on, she insists she needs a sugary snack first. Meeting her in the Cafeteria, you find her eating a doughnut, but the Guard quickly approaches her and tells her she needs to pay for it, which she refuses to do. After dining and dashing and returning to the Art Classroom, she claims that your idea of painting her is too small and insists on making a bigger statement.
After you grab some paint cans from the shelf, you find the TA on the Roof, insisting that her message will be big and bold. She paints a large mural on the rooftop and smashes the greenhouse, with a horrified Jo appearing and demanding to know what's going on. Before Jacklyn can be fired and arrested, you swipe the brooch off of her and bring her back to her senses. Jo demands she clean up her mess before defeatedly leaving. The section ends with you either letting Jacklyn clean by herself or helping her with a mop.
Maya
You give Maya the brooch as a gift, and after putting it on her jacket, she walks away, insisting she needs to take a catnap. Feeling tired, yourself, you go to sleep to observe her in the morning.
Upon waking up and heading to the Kitchen, you're shocked to see that Maya is wearing nothing but her panties and jacket, complete with messy hair and no makeup, revealing dark bags under her eyes. You tell her she should get dressed before going to school, and she slowly and lifelessly climbs back upstairs on all fours to do so. Finding this very odd yet interesting, you continue observing her. Meeting with her in the Entrance Hall, you talk to her a bit before Flora angrily approaches and demands to know who took her homework. Maya quickly admits to doing it and turning it in as her own. Both you and Flora are confused by this, and you decide to make sure nothing worse happens.
In the Gym, you spot Maya napping on the bleachers as the cheerleaders gang up on her to bully her for her unkempt look. However, Maya isn't putting up any fight and simply insists on just wanting to sleep. Being bored of the situation, they back off, with you mentally agreeing that she should probably be left alone for a bit. Upon exiting the Gym, however, an angry Jo walks by, claiming that someone used the school computers to visit illegal websites. Not wanting to pry further, you decide to grab a bite from the Cafeteria, only to learn that the power in the room is out. You then decide to head into town to eat at Tam's Pancake Brothel, provided you have $15 for your meal. Regardless of what you do, you decide to head back home to check up on Maya.
You arrive home to find Maya playing on your xCube, having left school early to do so and even making it further along in your game than you ever had. You've decided that you've had enough of this heavily apathetic version of Maya, missing the girl who would give endless sarcasm and innuendos to mask her feelings. Upon you lifting her up to move her and her weakly telling you to just do what you're gonna do, you insist you're not gonna harm her and take the brooch off. She instantly comes back with her signature wit and insults before realizing her condition and taking a shower.
Conclusion
After running your little experiment, you found the results fascinating overall. You wonder where the power of this brooch comes from as well as contemplate using the information you learned for both good and evil before deciding you've had enough fun with the brooch for now.
Magic or coincidence? You decide.
Characters
Scenes
- Kate's Narcissism
- Maya's Apathy
Missable Items
- If you hadn't completed Invested Investigation beforehand, you will have no need to create the Makeshift Mop.
Missable Interactions
General
- Upon reflecting upon the brooch at the start of the quest, you'll recall how either you, Flora, or Isabelle acted upon wearing it, depending on how Excessive Accessory started.
Kate
- When tripping in front of Kate and her commenting on it:
- Saying you were distracted by her beauty will give you 1 Charisma point.
- If you completed Dethroning the Queen, she'll ask what your angle is. You'll be thrown off, as she would've never done that before.
- Apologizing and calling yourself an idiot will give her 1 Lust point as you continue to berate yourself.
- Asking if she tripped you will have her insist that she didn't, though she'll go about it differently depending on if you completed Dethroning the Queen or Stepping on the Rose.
- Her expressions for the entire sequence will be different depending on whether or not she's been dethroned, despite the dialogue staying unchanged.
- Saying you were distracted by her beauty will give you 1 Charisma point.
- If you completed Dethroning the Queen, you'll comment how she's acting like her old self again after receiving something shiny.
- Upon entering the Cafeteria while searching for Kate, if Flora won the brooch in Excessive Accessory, you'll comment how this is where she would've ended up.
Jacklyn
- When Jacklyn comments how "she never would've pegged you" as someone who loves to hear how she's doing, you'll ask if she's sure had she done just that in The Statement.
- If Isabelle had the brooch in Excessive Accessory, Jacklyn will recognize it when you give it to her. You'll insist it actually belongs to you.
- Upon entering the Cafeteria while meeting up with Jacklyn, if Flora won the brooch in Excessive Accessory, you'll comment how the two could have more in common than you thought.
- When Jacklyn runs off without paying for the doughnut, you'll cough up $5 for it if you have the money.
- Jacklyn will claim that it's time to make "bigger and broader strokes" than you painting her.
- Claiming you know a lot about big strokes will give her 1 Lust point as she insists that your zipper should stay up for now.
- Saying that's disappointing will have you mentally comment that she's still basically her same self, unless her metaphoric comments are somehow her worst trait.
- Telling her to lead the way will give her 1 Love point as you agree with her that the world is your canvas.
- If you helped her vandalize the school bus in The Statement, you'll wonder if she's got more graffiti in mind for what she's doing next.
- Joining Jacklyn in vandalizing the roof will give her 2 Lust points. Choosing to watch will instead subtract 1 Love point from her, as well as 1 Lust upon your insistence that Jo won't be happy about this.
- When you try to explain the situation to Jo, she'll tell you to be quiet since you're also in trouble.
- Telling her the truth about the brooch's mysterious powers will cause her to lose 1 Love point as she calls it nonsense while Jacklyn gains 1 Lust point at you trying to take the heat off of her.
- Blaming Jacklyn for everything will subtract 2 Love points from the TA at your betrayal.
- Remaining silent will lead to Jacklyn claiming that getting a new ceiling is a good thing, to which Jo loses 1 Love point upon mentioning that the school will have to pay for it.
- Helping Jacklyn clean the Roof will give her 1 Love point as you get a mop.
- If you completed Invested Investigation, you'll remember that the janitor's mop is missing and will have to make a makeshift one with a stick and dirty laundry.
- Otherwise, if you completed Stolen Hearts, you'll recall what Mrs. L did to the mop as you take it from the janitor's closet.
- Leaving Jacklyn to clean the roof herself will subtract 2 Love points from her.
Maya
- When you tell Maya you have something for her, she'll sarcastically ask if it's a dick.
- Claiming that it is will give her 1 Love point as you reveal that you named the brooch "Dick".
- Saying it's something shiny will have her ask if it's a shiny dildo.
- Insisting she needs to say please will have her tell you to "please fuck off", giving her 1 Lust point as she insists that she should wash her mouth with soap, if that's what you call your dick.
- When the cheerleaders mock Maya for her lack of makeup, you decide to speak up.
- Saying she's prettier than all 3 of them combined will have them all insist that you're just white knighting her.
- Agreeing with them will cause Maya to lose 1 Love point as she insists she's trying to sleep.
- Claiming that true beauty is on the inside will cause Casey and Stacy to call you lame while Lacey confusedly asks "inside of what?"
- If you pay $15 for a meal at Tam's Pancake Brothel, 2 hours will pass before you wonder where your food is. Nurse will appear and explain since the Cafeteria's power is out and the hospital usually gets its food from there, they instead ordered 200 waffles from Tam's. You'll offer to help her carry the deliveries, giving her 1 Love point.
Achievements
- Telling Jo about the brooch's mysterious powers will give you the "Truth Teller" achievement.
