Clubroom

The Clubroom is Maxine's base of operations for the school newspaper. In typical Maxine fashion, she doesn't make it easy to access.

Summary

Hidden away on the third floor of Newfall High is the Clubroom. Rumor has it that it has a dark history behind it and is off-limits for students, which could explain how Maxine was able to claim it for her work on the school paper. Maxine claims there's supposed to be some sort of security system to ward out intruders, but it clearly didn't work since we were able to gain entry. The room itself is very cluttered, filled with boxes and binders full of papers and files spread across it. In the center is a table housing books, a typewriter, and a very outdated PC.

Collectable Items

• A piece of Paper can technically be collected from the pile, but given your fear of what Maxine will do if she finds out you stole it, you won't be able to leave the room with it.
• "Microplastics: How Ocean Pollution Affects Cthulhu" by Luna Lovecraft can be found on the Pile of Books on the table.

Trivia

• When first entering the room at the end of Oxygen for Oxymoron, MC will claim that it used to house the school's literature club, but it was soon ended after a list of tragic events occurred. This monologue is a giant homage to "Doki Doki Literature Club".

• MC speculates that the key wrapped around Maxine's neck is for the chest in the room.

• There will be different interactions with Maxine's Chest depending on whether or not she's currently in the room.
  • If she's in the room, she'll confront you about what you're doing before calling your claim of you admiring her chest to be deja vu.
  • If she's not in the room, you'll speculate that it contains anything from pirate treasure to a corpse.

• The Locker contains artifacts from Maxine's journalistic investigations such as "a sack of golf balls, some kind of radio equipment, a children's shopping cart, women's shoes, a VHS player, and an exquisitely handcrafted wooden car."

• The books Maxine keeps on the table change throughout the game depending on if/when certain quests are completed.
